Hot wings might befit the personality behind Tempe, Arizona given its desert location, but ice cream too?  Yes, Cold Stone Creamery maintains its headquarters here, along with the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl for college football.  Given that Arizona State University is also based in Tempe, suffice it to say that students here will not be lacking any dinner or dessert options. Focused around Tempe Town Lake is Tempe Marketplace, a local open air market and one of the premier shopping destinations in the city.  Along with Arizona Mills and Ikea, Tempe boasts a pretty strong catalogue of shops and amenities.  The Los Angeles Angels baseball team maintains their spring training quarters here and the Ironman Triathlon, held in November. Something will not be found afoot at the Circle K (headquartered in Tempe) except a relatively good time and great residential neighborhoods that come together to make Tempe appealing for everyone in the family. Tempe will be more expensive given its proximity to more affluent areas and from demand due to the student body at Arizona State. The average listing price in Tempe was $304,270, according to Trulia.  For a $475,000 property in Tempe, payments on a thirty year mortgage will range from $1,750 to $1,900 each month with twenty percent down, according to Zillow. Interest rates varied from 4.04 percent to 4.26 percent. Tempe neighborhoods a wide variety to offer for every taste, from the large houses in Alta Mira, Tally Ho Farms North and Warner Estates whose prices start at $750,000 dollars and over to Sandah, Mission Ridge, Raintree and University Park that start north of half a million dollars.  For more affordable options, check out Maple-Ash, Broadmor, Alameda-Campus, Camelot Village, University Estates and Sunburst Farms. Tempe is also surrounded by excellent areas that lie in what would be considered its “suburbs”, places like Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and Camelback.  Other great suburbs of Tempe include Mesa or Gilbert.  Road access through each of these areas make commuting relatively easy and opens up much more in the way of inventory that buyers can enjoy. The Tempe area enjoys a wealth of art and cultural events in the community enhance the appeal of Tempe as a terrific town for a night out.  Institutions such as ballet under the stars at the Center Arts Amphitheater or looking up at the stars in the Arizona State University Planetarium are among some of the activities that can be done at night, so regardless of the time of the day there is always some fun almost anywhere in town.
