General Purpose and Scope (Summary):

Total Mortgage -Long Island is hiring! This position is intended as a gateway to becoming a licensed mortgage banker.  The Processing Coordinator will learn all facets of the mortgage industry and complete all NMLS licensing requirements while also shadowing licensed mortgage bankers, shopping competition, and acting as a support person to senior sales team members.

Functions:

• Collect borrower identifying information;
• Schedule appointments;
• Transfer phone calls;
• Complete back-end data entry in the loan origination system (this does not include taking and entering loan applications);
• Perform clerical work;
• Follow-up on documentation
• Provide general explanations or descriptions of loan terminology or the loan application process;
• Shop competition and provide feedback;
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct business in compliance with all state and federal regulations;
• Set personal goals for growth within Total Mortgage structure;
• Take a proactive approach to learning;
• Complete necessary training and self-study to ensure passing of NMLS licensing tests;
• Meet goals set by Total Mortgage.

Note: Processing Coordinators may not, under any circumstance, take a mortgage loan application or negotiate the terms of mortgage loan, without the prerequisite licensing.

-MUST KNOW ENCOMPASS AND BE LICENSED ORIGINATOR

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certifications, Licenses, etc.

State and Federal licensing is not required for the role of Processing Coordinator, however,

NMLS State and Federal Licensing is required within 30 days of start date as Processing Coordinators are expected to advance to Mortgage Bankers.

Hours for position:

M-F 9am-5pm

This position may require frequent additional hours, at times on a daily basis; must be available to work additional hours on short notice as determined by management to meet customer service and investor requirements
