We took almost two weeks to decide the right structure for our loans, and during that time, our loan officer made himself available to answer all questions and give advice.
 
More importantly, he didn't pressure us to make a decision or lock in a rate, and he didn't disparage other brokers. He also kept us informed every step of the way. Our closing went smoothly too; there were no last-minute fees, requests for additional documentation, or higher rates or points-things we had experienced with other mortgage companies. The Good Faith estimates were almost perfect; the notary was courteous and efficient; and we were finished in about 45 minutes.

"Our story is: the mortgage rates had and still are fluctuating (and LOW), but the important thing for us was to find a solid, honest contact and mortgage company and then wait until the day that rates were really down and then lock in. We missed a huge dip in rates the first time around in the winter because I was still researching, but proceeded to get my contact down, then waited several weeks again. He called us when rates went really low again, and we finally locked in. We ended up saving almost $2,000/month after refinancing with principle and interest. He's a very straight shooter, super efficient, honest and nice. We actually had something on our credit report that didn't belong there and was a mistake, and he ended up taking care of that all for us, too, before we applied, and he floated our rate down yet again even AFTER we locked in when rates dipped again. He made the process very easy and their closing costs were the best around. They are in CT, but location made no difference, and the person actually came to our home the night we closed to make it convenient for us. Hope you will be able to benefit from this contact."
